Translation, Interpretation, and Printing (TIP)

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
- Coordinate, promote and provide information support to the AFRO Regional Programme.

- Prepare publication and documents in order to facilitate communication with Member States.
Description of duties:
- Translation of English and Portuguese documents into French.

- Editing of documents submitted in French and reviewing the work of the French Editor.

- Simultaneous interpretation from English and Portuguese into French.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Degree in modern languages and specialization in translation. Studies in social or biomedical sciences.
Skills:
- Excellent ability to write and translate in French.

- Diligence and ability to work with precision, under stress, and without supervision.

- Capacity to adapt to a multicultural setting,
- Ability to supervise general service staff,

Experience:
Ten years' progressive experience in translation and/or revision works at the international level, preferably in a UN system organisation.

Experience in editing, publications and management.
Languages:
Excellent French as the active or "A" language.

Very good knowledge of English and good knowledge of Portuguese.
Annual salary: (Net of tax)
US$ 55,259 at single rate
US$ 59,200 with primary dependants
